The first animals we saw when we entered the park were warthogs, which are amazingly lively and graceful animals. There were lots of them all over the place, and we always enjoyed seeing them. The babies were unbearably cute.

There are lots of signs in Addo, these were two of the most interesting:

We had lunch at the main lodge, under the head of the legendary giant of the herd.

Although the remaining elephants are not as big, they are impressive:

We saw lots of elephants, including some herds of 30 or 40 animals, but even when there were no elephants in sight we found evidence of their presence. The female dung beetles do all the work, while the males trail along behind to do their thing once the ball is ready and the single egg inserted inside.

We didn't see any zebras the first day, but they showed up eventually.

Of course everyone wants to know, why did the ostrich cross the road? These velvet monkeys are working on it.

All of these animals were pretty lively. But then there were the lions.
