In April 2003 one of our neighbours came by with the magazine of the local parish, and to our surprise and delight, there was a picture of our house!

The caption reads as follows: "The tavern of Dona Natália in Peral was a centre of conviviality and a meeting place. On weekends the young folk of the area were attracted there to dance, and the youth of those days liked to stroll around there on Sunday afternoons. Many balls were held in the shop or adjoining warehouse. The house was restored with respect to its architectural heritage. Outside, a sign identifies the dance hall tradition of the house."

We have met people who remember these balls, and the old folk of the area seem delighted to have the memory kept alive.
