August 2003

Here is how things are looking in August 2003. The yard wss almost done, with a barbeque and sheltered pergola for outdoors dining.

After a great deal of work supervised by our Belgian Shepard, we have a swimming pool with resident mermaid.

We have a "modern" bread oven! And lots of space on the roof for sunning, drying olives, and other such things.

But there was lots to do. The gardeneer tells us that the Avenida das Oliveiras (outside the guest room) could use some landscaping. The ruin at the far end of the garden needed repair, but as you can see, the workers are slugging away at it.

By November they had made good progress:

The gates merit special notice. Why did we have two gates? Because the outer one was still in place while the inner one was being installed! But we are making progress, as the second, more recent photo shows. There is also a path to lead from the parking area to the house.

And you don't want to miss the Indian godesses!
